The Yankees and Twins Go At it Tonight
A.J. Burnett will not be part of the New York Yankees' starting rotation in the American League Division Series.

The Yankees announced Tuesday that CC Sabathia will start Game 1 against the Minnesota Twins.

Andy Pettitte will start in Game 2, while Phil Hughes will start Game 3 when the series moves from Minnesota to the Bronx.
Yankees manager Joe Girardi wants to throw as many lefties as he can against a Minnesota lineup that is loaded with dangerous lefties, so he will bring Sabathia back for Game 4 on short rest if needed, while Pettitte, who would pitch on regular rest because of the off days in the schedule, would start Game 5 if necessary.
General manager Brian Cashman has said the Yankees' postseason rotation would be based on merit, not money.

The Bills Trade Lynch
Running back Marshawn Lynch is gone as the Bills trade him for undisclosed draft choices.
According to the Democrat and Chronicle, Bills General Manager Buddy Nix said; "Marshawn has worked hard and played hard for us this season and we certainly appreciate his efforts," "We are constantly evaluating our personnel and feel that this is a good move for our team’s future.”

Lynch’s agent Doug Hendrickson told The Associated Press that a deal was made today, but he did not know what the Bills received in exchange. Lynch was the Bills’ first-round draft pick in 2007.

Ladies, He Doesn’t Exist
That sensitive, new man who cleans the house, does the laundry and changes diapers he doesn't exist. That's right, the new man is a myth. Despite all the focus on feminists' pressure for men to help around the house, a new study found that guys don't do any more chores than they did 30 years ago. While the amount of time wives spend on household duties has dropped from 19.5 hours a week to 14.5, it's not because they're doing less. The five hour drop is due to improved gadgets and appliances that shorten the work. Meanwhile, University of Michigan researchers found that guys spend an average of only seven hours a week helping around the house. (National Examiner)

No Screaming Kids Allowed
If it's not polite to talk while eating, then it certainly isn't OK to have kids screaming while others are dining. That's the philosophy of North Carolina's Olde Salty's restaurant owner Brenda Armes, who has banned loud, unruly children from her place. In fact, a sign in the window plainly states: "Screaming children will not be tolerated." Says Armes: "We want to attract the type of people that come in knowing they aren't going to have to sit behind a table with a bunch of screaming children." While many of Armes' customers feel the same way, some of them resent the restriction. "It has been a good thing for us," says Armes. "It has brought us more customers than it has taken away."

According to the Allstate Insurance Company yearly survey, America's best drivers reside in Fort Collins, Colorado, where each citizen is involved in a wreck once every 14.5 years. That's 31 percent less likely than the average U.S. motorist. The next safest drivers live in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Boise, Idaho, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Knoxville, Tennessee. DON'T WORRY, BE HAPPY DAMN IT!
(Sun) Five breakthroughs on the horizon will make the world a much happier place in which to live:
1. Governments around the world are already enacting "happiness" policies. In Sweden, advertising found to create sadness and discontent in children has been banned. Other countries are contemplating free mental health care and massive cash grants to the poor to boost feelings of well being.
2. Companies are beginning to market rewarding and fulfilling experiences, such as family vacations, rather than hollow consumer goods. The experiences will provide lasting feel good memories.
3. "Happiness Zones" are starting to pop up all over, places where you can let your hair down and have a good time without guilt. Think Las Vegas and New Orleans' Mardi Gras.
4. Economists and sociologists have come up with a scale to help countries figure out just how happy their citizens are. Early findings indicate you're more likely to be happy if you live in a small community where your individual personality and accomplishments are recognized. People who live in large, anonymous cities, where nobody knows anybody else, score much lower on the happiness scales.
5. Computers are becoming a gateway to individualized, personal utopias, where you can act out your dreams and learn important life lessons without taking any risks.
