Brady and the Patriots Rout the Jets
FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) -Tom Brady turned this anticipated classic into a classic rout.

Brady doesn't lose many big games, certainly not at home and definitely not with so much on the line. He threw for four touchdowns and 326 yards Monday night in New England's 45-3 romp past the New York Jets for his NFL-record 26th straight regular-season home victory.

In surpassing Brett Favre's mark for consecutive wins in the comforts of his own stadium, Brady also lifted the Patriots (10-2) to the best record in the AFC. If this was for bragging rights in the conference, Rex Ryan and the Jets (9-3) will have to be silent for a while.

The Broncos Fire McDaniels
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) -The Denver Broncos wanted Josh McDaniels to bring the New
England Patriots' winning ways with him to the Rocky Mountains 22 months ago.

What they got instead was the ash-gray hoodie and their very own videotaping scandal to go with a pile of losses and personnel blunders that cost him his job not even halfway through his four-year contract.

McDaniels was fired Monday in the midst of the franchise's worst skid in four decades.

The Bronco’s running backs coach will serve as the interim coach until a replacement is found.

TODAY'S NEWS & OTHER STUFF

3 Oregon Deer Attack a Barking Dog
BEND, Ore. (AP) - A Bend, Ore., woman says three deer attacked her barking dog and left the pet with head wounds and a punctured chest, but she's expected to make a full recovery.

Tiffany Rounds says she often sees deer in central Oregon but never had them in her backyard before Thursday. Her small dog, Daisy, clearly thought it was inappropriate and went flying out the door, barking.

Rounds told local media yesterday that the six-point buck and two does started beating the dog with their hooves and then the buck tried to get her with his antlers.

U.S. Lottery Winners Keep Ticket in Safe
BOISE, Idaho (AP) - A family holding an Idaho Lottery ticket worth $1 million wasn't taking any chances while traveling from their home in Brigham City, Utah,to claim their winnings in Boise.
Sisters Cindy Flint and Carol Olsen, along with their mother Donna Flint, made the nearly 300-mile trip to Idaho with their ticket locked in a fireproof safe.

Cindy Flint says she went a step further, and slept with the safe in her hotel bed.
The women claimed their prize Monday.

Lottery spokesman David Workman says other winners have taken precautions, but the Flint family may be the first to arrive in lobby of the Idaho Lottery headquarters with a safe in tow.

The women bought their ticket at a store in Franklin, Idaho, near the state border with Utah.

The Dr. Has Found a Pattern
Couples therapist and author John W. Jacobs, M.D., has found a pattern in the people he counsels: Their expectations of marriage are often so unrealistic that even the strongest of relationships doesn't stand a chance. In this excerpt from his book "All You Need Is Love and Other Lies about Marriage," he lists what he calls the seven lies of marriage:

1. All you need is love
2. I talk all of the time, my spouse just doesn't listen
3. People don't really change
4. Egalitarian marriage is easier than traditional marriage
5. When you marry, you create your own family legacy
6. Children solidify a marriage
7. The sexual revolution has made great sex easier than ever

Do You Nap
34% of adults take a daily nap. Asylum.com reports that a Pew Research Center survey found that in the past 24 hours, 34% of U.S. adults have taken a nap.

Men are more likely than women to nap and only those who are under age 50 were counted, then both men and women are equally inclined to nap.

Napping accelerates once we hit age 80, but all age groups between 18 and 79 have about the same inclination towards snoozing in daylight hours.

Kid Cost

If you think diapers are expensive, note that is only the beginning.

It costs a whopping $221,000 to raise a baby to his or her 18th birthday, according to a federal government report issued by the USDA's Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion. And that doesn't even count the cost of college, which could effectively double it to about a half-million bucks. And that's for one kid.

• Furniture - 100 - 300% price markup!
• Jewelry - Could be 300 - 800%!
• LCDs and other electronics - Not that significant. Generally between 10-20%. The lower end models can be less than 10%.
• Cars - About 30%.

IT WAS ON THIS DAY:

In 1941 At 7:55am on a Sunday morning, Pearl Harbor is attacked by carrier based Japanese planes killing 2300. The following day in his war speech to Congress, President Franklin Roosevelt called it "a day which will live in infamy."

TODAY IS PEARL HARBOR DAY
At dawn on Sunday, December 7, 1941, six Japanese carriers launched a first wave of 181 planes composed of torpedo bombers, dive bombers, horizontal bombers and fighters against Pearl Harbor, on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. Here's a look back at that terrible day, which spurred the U.S. to enter World War II:

• The attack wasn't just on Pearl Harbor, but included other military installations on the island. Huge losses were also suffered at Hickam, Wheeler and Bellows airfields, Ewa Marine Corps Air Station, Kaneoshe Bay Naval Air Station and Schofield Barracks.
• The attack by 183 Japanese planes began at 8:02 a.m., as most people were waking up for what they thought was a quiet Sunday.
• Less than two hours later, 2,280 American servicemen and 68 civilians were dead, and 1,109 were wounded.
• Eight battleships were damaged and five were sunk, while three light cruisers, three destroyers, three smaller vessels and 188 aircrafts were lost.
• The USS Arizona went down only nine minutes after being hit by a 1,760-pound bomb. Killed in the horrendous explosion were 1,177 crewmen.
• Things could have been even worse, if not for a goof by Japanese strategists. Their main targets were the U.S. fleet's aircraft carriers -- most of which were out of port that day.
